Garnet Ross partners with Think Jessica

Garnet Ross has partnered with Think Jessica, a fraud publication which raises awareness of the dangers and financial implications of scams.

What is Think Jessica?

Think Jessica, founded by Marilyn Baldwin OBE, is a campaign which aims to educate the public about the danger and sophistication of scams.

Marilyn’s mother, Jessica, was in her seventies when she fell victim to a string of mail scams.

After entering a competition through a magazine, the widowed grandmother began to receive dozens of fraudulent letters and cheques claiming that she was the recipient of a huge cash prize, as long as she was willing to pay an up-front fee.

The scam led to the downfall of Jessica’s family, as she was totally convinced that she would receive the cash. Over a five-year period, she sent thousands of pounds to the fraudsters, using her pension to fund it.

Shortly after Jessica passed away in 2007, Marilyn started the Think Jessica campaign which has since featured in the national press and supplemented a plethora of educational materials.
